Lovable Student Discount (2026): 50% Off Lovable Pro

50% off Lovable Pro (100 credits, billed monthly) for up to 12 months

Lovable gives students and teachers 50% off Lovable Pro for up to 12 months. That cuts the 100-credit monthly plan from $25 to $12.50 a month. You verify by logging in with your school email, and no card is needed to verify. Lovable's docs limit the discount to the 100-credit Pro plan billed monthly. Higher tiers, annual billing, Business and top-ups are charged at full price.

Who is eligible

  • Students and teachers with an academic email address; Lovable checks your email domain against a list of academic institutions (Gmail and other personal addresses can't be verified)
  • Your workspace must be on the Free plan when you verify (existing paid customers aren't eligible)
  • One use per person; the discount is tied to the verified account and can't be transferred

How to claim it

  1. Go to lovable.dev/students
  2. Log in with your school email and click 'Verify student status'
  3. If rejected, click 'Why did this happen?' then 'Request review'
  4. Subscribe to Pro with 100 credits, billed monthly, within 12 months of verifying

Catches & caveats

The value shown is the saving over 12 months (12 × $12.50). No card is needed to verify student status, but paying for Pro needs a payment method. Lovable's docs limit the discount to the 100-credit Pro plan billed monthly. The student landing page also mentions $12.50 a month off other plans.

Short answer: Lovable gives students and teachers 50% off Lovable Pro for up to 12 months. On the 100-credit monthly plan, that is $12.50 a month instead of $25, which saves $150 over a year. You verify at lovable.dev/students with your school email, and no card is needed to verify. Your workspace must be on the Free plan when you verify. You can only use the discount once, and if you cancel, you can't get it back.

What exactly you get

Lovable is an AI app builder. You describe an app in chat and Lovable writes and hosts it. Work is paid for in credits. The student offer discounts the entry tier of the Pro plan, which includes 100 monthly credits and all Pro features.

Regular Pro (100 credits)With student discount

Monthly Cloud grant20 credits20 credits
Monthly AI grant (AI features in your apps)4 credits4 credits
Cost over 12 months12 × $25 = $30012 × $12.50 = $150

According to Lovable's docs, Pro adds these features to the Free plan: code editing, code download, custom domains, removing the "Edit with Lovable" badge, design systems, credit rollover, on-demand top-ups and auto top-up. Free workspaces can publish only to invited people and can't use custom domains.

What the discount does not cover

Lovable's subscription docs are specific. The discount applies only to Pro with 100 credits a month, billed monthly. It doesn't cover higher Pro tiers, annual billing or the Business plan, and top-up credits are charged at standard prices. Lovable's student landing page says the discount is 50% off the Pro 100-credit monthly plan, or $12.50 a month off other plans. That doesn't fully match the docs, so check the price at checkout before you choose a larger tier.

Annual billing gives two months free (Pro 100 is $250 a year, about $21 a month). The student price of $12.50 a month is still cheaper, and the docs say the two can't be combined.

Who qualifies

  • Students and teachers. The docs say both get the same discount. The landing page says "Teachers welcome."
  • An academic email. Lovable checks your account's email domain against a list of academic institutions. Personal addresses such as Gmail can't be verified.
  • A Free-plan workspace. You can only verify while your workspace is on the Free plan, so existing paying customers can't switch to the student price.
  • One use per person. The discount is tied to the verified account and can't be moved to another account.
  • No country list. Lovable doesn't publish country restrictions for the student offer. What matters is whether your school's email domain is recognized.

How to claim it, step by step

  1. Sign up or log in at lovable.dev with the email your school gave you. If your current account uses a personal address, create a new account with your school email.
  2. Open lovable.dev/students and click Verify student status. The page shows Recognized for your email and Confirmed for enrollment when verification works.
  3. If your school email isn't accepted, click Why did this happen? and then Request review. Lovable checks your school's domain and replies if it can be added. It doesn't say how long this takes.
  4. Subscribe to Pro with 100 credits, billed monthly. You need a payment method to pay, even though verifying didn't need one.
  5. Subscribe within the verification window. The docs say verification lasts 12 months, so verifying now and subscribing much later can mean you need to verify again.

How Lovable credits work on the student plan

All your credits sit in one balance that covers building, chatting with Lovable, Cloud hosting for your app's built-in backend, and AI features inside apps you deploy. Lovable spends the usage-specific grants first (daily build credits, the Cloud grant and the AI grant). After that it uses general credits, starting with the ones closest to expiry.

  • Plan Mode costs 1 credit per message.
  • Default Mode costs depend on the task. Lovable's examples are 0.50 credits for a color change and 1.70 for a landing page with generated images.
  • Rollover: on monthly plans, plan credits roll over and expire two months after they are issued.
  • Daily build credits expire at the end of each day and don't roll over.
  • Top-ups on Pro cost $15 for 50 credits ($0.30 each) and last 12 months. They aren't discounted for students.

Here is a worked example. If you use all 100 plan credits plus the 5 daily build credits across a 30-day month, you have up to 100 + (5 × 30) = 250 credits of building for $12.50. The daily credits only help if you build on most days, because unused ones expire each night.

Renewal, cancelling and what happens afterwards

  • After 12 months, the discount ends and you pay regular prices. Pro with 100 credits is $25 a month. You can also downgrade to Free.
  • Cancelling removes the discount, and you can't reactivate it later. To cancel, go to Workspace settings → Plans & credit usage, click Manage on your plan card, then Downgrade to free. The plan stays active until the end of the billing period. On a phone, cancel at lovable.dev in a browser, because the mobile app has no cancel option.
  • Refunds: Lovable's FAQ says subscription fees and credits are non-refundable except where the law requires it.
  • Credits after cancelling: unexpired subscription credits are frozen and return if you upgrade again before they expire. Top-up credits stay usable.
  • Your apps: Pro-only features stop working, the "Edit with Lovable" badge returns the next time you publish, and an app already published to your workspace stays live. You can't publish changes until you make the app public or upgrade.

Because a cancelled discount can't be reactivated, avoid cancelling and resubscribing to switch plans. If you plan to pause for a summer, compare the cost of keeping the $12.50 plan with losing the discount for good.

Data and model training

Lovable's FAQ says that from September 9, 2026, it may use Free and Pro customer data, including prompts, code, project files and outputs, to train its AI models unless you opt out. The student plan is a Pro plan, so this applies to you. To opt out, turn off Use my Lovable content for model training in Account settings → Preferences → AI model training. Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded by default. If you are building something for a class with private data, or for a client, set this before you start.

Getting the most value as a student

  • Plan first, then build. Plan Mode messages cost a flat 1 credit, so settling the design in Plan Mode can save credits on rebuilds in Default Mode.
  • Use daily credits on most days. The 5 daily build credits disappear each night. Short daily sessions get more out of them than one weekend sprint.
  • Export your code. Pro includes code download and Git sync, so you can keep your project after the discount ends and move it into an editor such as Cursor or a JetBrains IDE.
  • Use a custom domain for your portfolio. Custom domains and badge removal are Pro features. They are worth using while you have the plan.
  • Learn on Lovable Academy. Lovable runs a free learning site with a guided path to build and publish an app.

How it compares with alternatives

Lovable's offer is a discount, not a free plan, so compare it with tools you might already get for free as a student. The GitHub Student Developer Pack and GitHub Copilot for students cover AI coding inside an editor. Cursor's free student year closed to new sign-ups in June 2026 (see our Cursor student discount page). For design and prototyping without code, the Figma Education plan gives higher-ed students Figma Make for free. For full plan prices, credit tiers and top-up rates, see our Lovable pricing page. More free routes are in our guide to free AI credits.

Is it worth it, or is the Free plan enough?

The Free plan gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus the same 20-credit Cloud grant and 4-credit AI grant as Pro. Free projects are private to the workspace and can only be published to invited people. Free is enough to try Lovable on a small class exercise. The student plan makes sense if you need a public app with a custom domain, want to download or edit the code yourself, or need more than about 30 build credits a month. Pro gives you 100 plan credits on top of the daily credits, which aren't capped at 30 a month on standard Pro plans. Lovable says some regional plans keep that cap.

Common mistakes

  • Upgrading before verifying. You can only verify on the Free plan. If you subscribe at full price first, you lose access to the student price.
  • Picking annual billing or a bigger tier. The docs say the discount only covers the 100-credit monthly Pro plan.
  • Using a personal email. Gmail and similar addresses can't be verified. Log in with your school address.
  • Assuming top-ups are discounted. Extra credits cost the standard $0.30 each on Pro.
  • Forgetting your school email expires. Before you graduate, move projects to another workspace or invite a personal account as editor or admin.

Frequently asked questions

›Does Lovable have a student discount?

Yes. Students and teachers get 50% off Lovable Pro for up to 12 months. That is $12.50 instead of $25 a month on the 100-credit plan.

›Is Lovable free for students?

Not fully. Students get half price on Pro. Anyone can use the Free plan, which gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month.

›Does the Lovable student discount work with annual billing or bigger plans?

According to Lovable's docs, no. The discount only applies to Pro with 100 credits a month, billed monthly. Higher Pro tiers, annual billing and Business aren't covered, and top-ups cost the standard price. The student landing page mentions $12.50 a month off other plans, so confirm the price at checkout.

›Can I get the student discount if I already pay for Lovable?

No. Lovable only verifies workspaces on the Free plan. If you already pay, you would need to wait until your workspace is back on Free. Lovable doesn't say whether it makes exceptions.

›Can teachers get the Lovable discount?

Yes. Lovable's docs say students and teachers get the same 50% off Pro. You verify with an academic email in the same way.

›What happens if I cancel my Lovable student plan?

You lose the discount and can't reactivate it later. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period, and then the workspace moves to Free.

›What happens after the 12 months?

The discount ends and you can keep using Lovable at regular prices. Pro with 100 credits is $25 a month. You can also downgrade to Free.

›What if my school email gets deactivated?

Lovable suggests moving your projects to another workspace you belong to (in project settings), or inviting your other account to the project as an editor or admin.
