New Google Cloud customers get a $300 Welcome credit to spend over a 90-day Free Trial on most Google Cloud services. You must add a valid payment method, but you are not billed during the trial. The credit cannot pay for the Gemini API in AI Studio or for partner models offered as managed APIs, and trial accounts cannot add GPUs, use Marketplace or request quota increases. Good to know

Prices vary by region. In Germany, Google One lists AI Plus at EUR 4.99 and AI Pro at EUR 21.99 per month. Google's US plan page lists monthly prices only. Google One shows an annual toggle ("save up to 16%"), and AI Pro's annual price was reported as $199.99 when it launched in June 2025. The Gemini 4 Argon model name appears on Google's pages.

Google sells its consumer AI subscriptions as Google One plans in four paid tiers: AI Plus ($4.99/month), AI Pro ($19.99/month), AI Ultra 5x ($99.99/month) and AI Ultra 20x ($199.99/month). Each plan bundles Gemini app usage, Google Flow credits for video and image creation, Gemini in Gmail and other Workspace apps, and Google One storage. Businesses buy Gemini Enterprise instead, from $21 per seat per month. All prices below are US list prices from Google's official pages, checked on October 17, 2026.

Free

Anyone with a Google Account gets the Gemini app with the Flash-Lite model, image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas and Gems. Free users can also try Google Flow, Google's AI creative studio, with limited Nano Banana Pro use. Storage stays at the standard 15 GB shared across Gmail, Drive and Photos. The Free plan's usage is the baseline that the other plans are measured against.

Google AI Plus ($4.99/month)

AI Plus doubles Free usage and adds the Flash model, video generation in the Gemini app and the Daily Brief. You get 200 Google Flow credits per month, more Nano Banana image access in Google Search, more Audio Overviews in Gemini Notebook, and Gemini in Gmail, Vids and other Google apps. Storage rises to 400 GB. Google says AI Plus is available in 160+ countries and territories, more than AI Pro or Ultra. It suits people who mainly want Gemini inside Gmail and Docs plus a storage upgrade.

Google AI Pro ($19.99/month)

AI Pro is the main plan for regular Gemini users. Usage is 4x the Free plan, with access to Gemini 4 Argon plus the Pro and Flash models. You get 1,000 Flow credits per month, higher access to Gemini 4 Argon and agentic features in Search, higher limits in Jules (Google's beta coding agent), entry-level rate limits for the agent model in Google Antigravity, and 5x more Audio Overviews. Storage jumps to 5 TB. In the US, AI Pro also includes YouTube Premium Lite, Google Home Premium Standard (30 days of event history) and auto browse in Gemini in Chrome.

Google's German Google One page also lists a $10/month Google Cloud credit for AI Pro through the Google Developer Program, plus higher AI Studio limits. That credit can help developers who also use the Gemini API, but the API itself is billed separately.

Google AI Ultra ($99.99 or $199.99/month)

Ultra comes in two tiers. The $99.99 tier gives 5x AI Pro usage, 10,000 Flow credits and 20 TB of storage. The $199.99 tier gives 20x AI Pro usage, 25,000 Flow credits and, according to the Google One plan comparison, 30 TB of storage. Both tiers include the highest access to Gemini 4 Argon, Project Genie (the Genie 3 world model, Ultra only), the highest Jules limits, Ultra 5x or 20x rate limits in Antigravity, YouTube Premium individual, Google Home Premium Advanced and first access to Tasks in Gemini in select countries. Google One lists a monthly Google Cloud credit of $40 on Ultra 5x and $100 on Ultra 20x.

Gemini Enterprise (business plans)

For companies, Google lists Gemini Enterprise. The Business edition starts at $21 per seat per month for teams of up to 300 seats, with 25 GiB of pooled storage per seat, Gemini Notebook for enterprise, prebuilt agents and a no-code Workflow Builder. The Standard and Plus editions start at $30 per seat per month, with unlimited seats, 75 GiB of pooled storage per seat, higher usage limits, VPC Service Controls, customer-managed encryption keys and support for third-party agents. Final Enterprise quotes come from Google's sales team.

Which plan fits which user

  • Casual users who ask Gemini a few questions a day can stay on Free. Deep Research, Gemini Live and image generation are already included.
  • Gmail- and Docs-heavy users who also need more than 15 GB of storage get the most from AI Plus. It adds Gemini in Gmail and Vids and 400 GB of storage for $4.99.
  • Daily Gemini users, students and creators should look at AI Pro. It gives 4x usage, Gemini 4 Argon, 1,000 Flow credits, 5 TB of storage and YouTube Premium Lite.
  • Heavy video creators and developers who hit AI Pro limits every week should compare Ultra 5x with Ultra 20x. The 20x tier is cheaper per unit of usage (see the examples below).
  • Companies that need admin controls, pooled storage and data protections should use Gemini Enterprise rather than personal Google One plans.

Worked cost examples

These examples use Google's official US monthly prices. They exclude sales tax, which depends on where you live.

1. A year of each plan on monthly billing

  • AI Plus: $4.99 × 12 = $59.88 per year
  • AI Pro: $19.99 × 12 = $239.88 per year
  • AI Ultra 5x: $99.99 × 12 = $1,199.88 per year
  • AI Ultra 20x: $199.99 × 12 = $2,399.88 per year

2. Annual billing for AI Pro

Google One shows a Monthly/Annual toggle with "save up to 16%", but Google's US Gemini page doesn't print the annual price. When annual billing for AI Pro launched in June 2025, Android Authority reported it at $199.99 per year. If that price still applies to you, the saving is $239.88 − $199.99 = $39.89 per year, or about 16.6%. Check the price shown at checkout before you switch.

3. Cost per unit of usage: Pro vs Ultra

Google measures Ultra against AI Pro. Ultra 5x costs $99.99 ÷ 5 = $20.00 per "AI Pro of usage", almost the same rate as AI Pro itself ($19.99). Ultra 20x costs $199.99 ÷ 20 = $10.00 per AI Pro of usage, about half the rate. If you would otherwise need more than 10x AI Pro usage, the 20x tier is the better value. If you only occasionally exceed AI Pro, buying AI credits (see the usage limits section) may cost less than upgrading.

4. Google Flow credits per dollar

  • AI Plus: 200 ÷ $4.99 ≈ 40 credits per dollar
  • AI Pro: 1,000 ÷ $19.99 ≈ 50 credits per dollar
  • Ultra 5x: 10,000 ÷ $99.99 ≈ 100 credits per dollar
  • Ultra 20x: 25,000 ÷ $199.99 ≈ 125 credits per dollar

Flow credit costs per video or image vary by model, platform and region, and Google doesn't publish one fixed rate on the plan page. Use these numbers to compare tiers, not to predict how many videos you'll get.

5. Sharing AI Pro with a family

Google One AI plans can be shared with up to 5 other people. If six people share one AI Pro plan, the cost is $19.99 ÷ 6 ≈ $3.33 per person per month. Family members get select AI benefits and share the 5 TB of storage. Google's help center says some perks, such as YouTube Premium Lite and the Google Developer Program benefit, are not shared.

6. A 10-person team on Gemini Enterprise Business

At the published starting price, 10 seats × $21 = $210 per month, or $210 × 12 = $2,520 per year. The same team on Standard/Plus would start at 10 × $30 = $300 per month ($3,600 per year). Ten personal AI Pro plans would cost 10 × $19.99 = $199.90 per month but wouldn't include business admin controls or pooled storage.

How the usage limits work

Google doesn't publish a fixed number of prompts per plan. Its US subscription page says Gemini app limits are compute-based. They factor in prompt complexity, the features you use and chat length. Limits refresh every 5 hours until you reach a weekly limit, and you can buy AI credits to keep going. The 2x, 4x, 5x and 20x multipliers describe how much more compute each plan gets compared with the plan below it. Google also notes that features such as Jules are in beta, English-only and offer no guaranteed capacity.

AI credits are separate from Flow credits. Flow credits are for video and image creation in Google Flow. AI credits extend Gemini app and Antigravity usage after your plan's limit runs out.

Free and discounted routes

  • US college students (18+) can get AI Pro free for one year by redeeming by December 31, 2026. A payment method is required, and the plan renews at $19.99/month unless cancelled. Students whose 2025 AI Pro trial expired can also qualify. Details: Google AI Pro free for students.
  • College students in 140+ other markets can get AI Plus free for one year, according to Google's August 19, 2026 announcement. It renews at $4.99/month or the local equivalent. Google lists the US, Bolivia, Albania, Canada, Macau, Hong Kong and Tunisia as outside this offer.
  • AI Pro + YouTube Premium student bundle: Google advertises up to 70% off for up to 4 years in select markets, with SheerID verification. It doesn't print one exact price, and it doesn't work with school-issued accounts.
  • Free trials: Google's US plan page links to a trial offer page but doesn't describe trial terms. Check the offer shown in your Google One account before subscribing.

Regional prices and taxes

Prices are set per country. In Germany, Google One lists AI Plus at €4.99 and AI Pro at €21.99 per month, so a year of AI Pro on monthly billing costs €21.99 × 12 = €263.88. Google says AI Plus is sold in 160+ countries and territories, and AI Pro and Ultra in 150+. Some benefits are country-limited, including YouTube Premium Lite, Google Home Premium, Gemini Agent and Project Genie. All AI plans are for users 18 and older. US prices exclude sales tax, while EU prices normally include VAT.

Cancelling and what happens next

You can cancel anytime from your Google One or Google Play subscriptions. Google says there are no refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires them, so cancel just before your renewal date. If you drop to Free, your storage limit falls back to 15 GB. Google's plan pages don't explain what happens to files above that limit, so check your Google One storage before cancelling a 5 TB or 20 TB plan.

How Google AI plans compare

ServiceEntry paid planMain planTop plan
Google AIAI Plus $4.99AI Pro $19.99Ultra $99.99 / $199.99
ChatGPTGo $8Plus $20Pro $100-$500
Claude-Pro $20Max $100 / $200
Perplexity-Pro $20 ($200/year)Max $200 ($2,000/year)
GrokPlus $8Premium $30Super $100 / Ultra $200

Google's main advantage is the bundle. AI Pro's 5 TB of storage and YouTube Premium Lite add value that ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro don't include. If you mainly need coding help, compare the agent limits in Claude Code and the API-based Gemini API. To set up API access, see our Gemini API key guide.

Common gotchas

  • The student offer needs a payment method and renews automatically. Put a reminder in your calendar before the year ends.
  • YouTube Premium Lite won't activate if you already have an equivalent YouTube Premium membership.
  • Buying on mobile vs web: subscriptions bought through Google Play are managed in Google Play. Check where you subscribed before changing plans.
  • "Up to 16%" is a ceiling, not a guarantee. Annual savings differ by plan and country. Ultra was monthly-only when annual billing launched in 2025.
